Vacation house

The design task of this competition was to design a vacation container house on sloping terrain overlooking the ocean in Sydney, Australia. The house is located on the eastern part of the lot. The volume of the house creates a barrier between private and public space, ie, between the street on the east and the western side of the lot overlooking the ocean.

The volume of the house on the ground floor is closed to the east. It opens to the west where the living area merges with the outdoor space by the pool.

The house has three levels. In the basement there is a gym, on the ground floor there is a living room and a garage, and upstairs there are bedrooms. Each bedroom is housed in a smaller container and is a separate unit with a private bathroom. The master bedroom is larger in dimensions and consists of two containers. A glass corridor connects the bedrooms. In between bedrooms are the terraces with access from the glass corridor.
